Sideline: Handball Privacy Policy

Last updated: 30 September 2026

In short: Sideline: Handball does not collect personal data. Everything stays on your device, and nothing is sent to the developer.

Who we are

Sideline: Handball is an app for handball coaches and team managers, developed by Stian Braastad (private individual, Oslo, Norway). This policy explains how the app handles information.

1. Summary

Sideline: Handball does not collect personal data. Everything you enter in the app is stored only on your device. Nothing is sent to the developer or to any third party. The app has no account, no sign-in, no ads, no analytics and no tracking.

2. What is stored, and where

The app stores what you enter yourself: team and opponent names, player names and shirt numbers, formations, matches, court time, substitutions and events (such as goals, 7-metre throws, missed shots, saves, 2-minute suspensions and cards), plus settings such as language. This is kept in the app's own storage on your device. The app does not use the network and does not send this data anywhere.

3. Information about other people, including children

Player names you enter may relate to other people, including children. This information stays on your device and under your control. We recommend entering only what you need, for example first names and shirt numbers, and following your club's guidelines.

4. Deletion

You can delete matches, and edit or remove players and events, in the app. Deleting the app from your device deletes all data the app has stored. If you use device backups (for example iCloud Backup or a backup on a computer), app data may be included in that backup. This is controlled by you and Apple, not by the developer.

5. Permissions

The app does not ask for access to your camera, photos, contacts, location, microphone, or for permission to track you.

6. Apple

Downloads from the App Store are handled by Apple under Apple's own privacy policy. Apple may give developers anonymised, aggregated figures (such as download numbers) and crash reports from users who have chosen to share them with developers. The developer cannot use these to identify you.

7. Contacting the developer

If you email support@sideline.no, I use your email address and message only to reply to you. The email is deleted once the matter is closed, unless you ask otherwise. The legal basis is legitimate interest in answering your enquiry (GDPR Article 6(1)(f)).

8. Your rights

Under data protection law (GDPR) you have rights including access, rectification and erasure. Because the developer has no access to the data in the app, you exercise these rights directly in the app or by deleting it. For anything about emails you have sent, contact support@sideline.no. You can complain to the Norwegian Data Protection Authority, Datatilsynet (www.datatilsynet.no), or your local supervisory authority.

9. This website

This website is published with GitHub Pages. GitHub logs visitors' IP addresses for security purposes under GitHub's privacy statement. This website does not use its own cookies, tracking or analytics, and loads no external fonts.

10. Changes

If the app changes in a way that affects how information is handled, this policy will be updated before the change takes effect, and the date above will change.
